The common approach of the air conditioner outdoor unit in residential buildings isinstalling the outdoor unit in construction groove structure with the louver closed. In theactual project, if the outdoor unit is installed unreasonable, the cooling performance of theair-conditioning may have serious repercussions. Therefore, the rational arrangement of theoutdoor unit, optimizing the thermal environment around the outdoor unit and improvingthe energy efficiency of outdoor unit are topics which are worthy of further exploration.As the platform of the enthalpy difference lab platform, combined with numericalsimulation, this paper studies the influence of thermal environment and energy efficiency ofoutdoor unit with the installation, the form of louver, outdoor temperature, outdoor windspeed and direction, and the heat release rate around the outdoor unit changing.By FLUENT software simulation, you can get the variation of temperature field andvelocity field of the outdoor unit with the installation, the form of louver, outdoortemperature, outdoor wind speed and direction, and the heat release rate around the outdoorunit changing. During the experiment, the enthalpy difference lab can control outdoor roomconditions, the variation of inlet air temperature and energy efficiency can be obtainedunder different conditions.Studies have shown that: with the outdoor temperature increases, the inlet airtemperature of the outdoor unit rises, the heat dissipation and cooling capacity of outdoorunit decreases and the energy efficiency decreases.When outdoor wind is the right winddirection, average inlet air temperature significantly lower than the positive Winds from theoutdoor air before. Wind velocity which is in front of the outdoor increases, the highestenergy efficiency ratio decreased by4.8%. When the louver spacing is certain, with theincrease of blinds open, the outdoor unit inlet air temperature reduces at first and thenincreased. Air conditioning energy efficiency increases first and then decreases. The louverspacing increases, the better the heat of the outdoor unit. With the capacity of the outdoorunit or outdoor unit heat release rate increases, the temperature around the outdoor unitincreases, the speed of the outdoor unit discharge hot air upward trend. When distance L1and L2increase, the outdoor unit inlet air temperature decreases, the amount of heat andcooling capacity of the outdoor unit increase energy efficiency increase of the outdoor unit.When distance L4increases from100mm to500mm, inlet air temperature of the outdoorunit decreases first and then increases. Heat and cooling capacity of the outdoor unit firstincreases and then decreases, EER of the outdoor unit first increases and then decreaseswhen the L1, L2=300mm, EER of air conditioning reaches2.49.Findings, when distance L1and L2which is between the condenser and wall respectively is300mm, the distance L4of the fan from the louver is300mm while thelouver spacing is100mm, the louver opening is degree of20°, heat dissipation of outdoorunit and energy efficiency increases33.3%relative to one side in and out of the wind.When the outdoor unit for double-side changes to the other, the outdoor unit’s cooling effectis significantly improved.When the outdoor unit is installed in construction groove structure, it is adviced thatdistance L1and L2to be at least100mm,distance L3to be at least200mm,distance L4tobe about100mm,with the louver open less than20°whose spacing is more than50mm.
