The loss of Magnetic Controlled Reactor (MCR) includes core loss, windings loss, semiconductor devices loss and stray loss caused by leakage magnetic flux. All kinds of loss will eventually translate into the form of heat, which will bring temperature rise and lead to partial insulation aging, endangering the safety and economic operation. So we built simulation model to calculate the loss, deduced the loss distribution of each part and obtained some practical measures to reduce the loss. It had great actual engineering application value, because these measures could not only reduce the cost of materials for reactor manufacturers, but also reduce maintenance probability for equipment users. This thesis mainly aimed at the loss mechanism and loss reducing measures of MCR. Firstly, this thesis expounded the structure, principle and working characteristics, introduced the loss mechanism of magnetic controlled reactor. Secondly, this thesis carried on programming calculation and finite element electromagnetic simulation of MCR loss, calculated reactor branches current, hysteresis loop, magnetic hysteresis loss and resistance loss under bias condition through modeling. Then the thesis introduced the design process of magnetic controlled reactor ontology, inferred some practical and feasible measures to reduce the loss of reactor through the finite element simulation results. Finally, carried on some detailed tests of the working current, total loss, the loss of each phase, components loss based on the loss characteristics and loss reducing measures of reactor, verifying the feasibility of loss reducing measures. The innovation of the thesis was to guide the design of the reactor according to simulation results, put forward some performance optimizating measures especially loss reducing measures of the reactor. The experimental results showed that the actual loss situation and the simulation results were basically identical. At present, the loss research of magnetic controlled reactor has achieved great success and the loss reducing measures applied to the design of the actual productions has good loss reducing effect.
