Currently, there are great number of cities in China, aim to solve the traffic conqestion resulted by urban expansion, actively establishing multi-level traffic to replace conventional plane traffic. City flyovers can facilitate huge vehicle-pedestrian traffic for commercial complexes, while these forms and extensive space also change serially on the form, texture, landscape, eco-environment and pedestrian traffic of the city space. Particularly, for this faced-street space of the multi-functional and large-sized commercial complexes in cities, what kind of impacts of elevated roads will exert on as well as its opportunities.This thesis is themed as the research on the faced-street space of large commercial complexes along elevated roads in citites. The author uses initially multidisciplinary theories and measures of architecture, city design, city planning, landscape design and so forth, and aims to discuss mainly on the categories of the faced-street space of large commercial complexes influenced by elevated roads, the relationship between the space and the city, impacts on cities themselves influenced by the space. Combined with space problems fund in the field trips to large commercial complexes along the second-ring elevated roads in Chengdu, the author concludes a design strategy of faced-street space of large commercial complexes along elevated roads, which are utilized for guiding later practical implications.Among them, the first chapter of the article is to propose major studies of the causes of street space, meaning, scope, and street space research. Beside this, author also reorganizes relative theories.Chapter two is one of the more important sections of this article, the first part of the chapeter probes into in-depth Analysis of space-related concepts; The latter part collects and do research on several classical projects at home and abroad regarding to some features of faced-street space.Chapter three is served as field research, The author analyzes some features of faced-street space along second ring roads in Chengdu through extensive field research.By enormous amount of quantitative analysis, the author sums up problems in faced-street space and lays a solid foundation for following solutionsChapter fourth presents space models of faced-street space and the function of forming cities in the basis of the summary, induction and refinery of the former three chapters. This is a nexus chapter.Chapter five propose some relative design strategies on faced-street space in the basis of former analysis and conclusions.
