The Study Of Landscape Design Of Community Greenways For The Demands Of Senior Citizen

The modern metropolis, with rapid evolution and development, have to confront a series of issues, which have aroused increasingly public concern,as the traffic congestion, environmental degradation and the population aging for instance. Though planning and design of cities, it has been the development concept that gains more and more public concern to solve the urban problems, to enhance the urban environment in which people live, and to attaches great importance to the urban residents’ activities and needsIt was1980s when the researches and theories of greenway planning, which has accompanied the evolution of landscape planning and design, have a extensive and deeply developing period. Through the construction of greenway, which has been regarded as the connections of residential area and linear natural open space, new concepts has been proposed to optimize the environment of metropolis and their surroundings,and to protect the historical and cultural resources.Firstly, through the research of greenway planning which satisfy the demand of the aging in community greenways, the urban community greenway, which has close connection with life of urban residents, has been selected from the integrated greenways network as the study object. Particularly, the senior citizens,who frequently use the urban community greenways, has been chosen as the main groups to study the planning and design of humanity and ecology in the exterior space of the urban areas.Secondly, though combing the concepts of greenway, the domestic and international research results, and the practical case, and integrating with the Environment-Behavior Studies and Demand Theory, the contact and impact between spatial characteristics and user requirement have been extracted by means of analyzing the community greenways space characteristics and the requirement types of elderly users. Eventually, by making research statistics and doing comparative analyses of the urban community greenways selected in Chengdu, the strategies of landscape planning and design, which satisfy the requirement of senior citizens in urban community greenways, have been extracted expecting to provide reference of the construction of urban community greenways.
