Communication Based Train Control (CBTC) has been developed rapidly in the urban transit. Due to the advanced moving autoblock system (MAS), the speed of train operation in CBTC system is improved and the tracking interval between trains is shortened which will increase the operation efficiency greatly. But it will brings plenty of problems, for example, in the tracking operation of trains, the following train will be interfered if the tracking interval is too short, and its operation handle will switch frequently, which will cause the increase of energy consumption and other problems. So it’s very significant to study the tracking operation of trains under moving block in practice. In this paper, the CBTC-MAS distributed simulation platform with High Level Architecture (HLA) was built based on the CBTC technical standards and existed urban transit structure. The causes and affecting factors of’interference’phenomenon were analyzed by the simulation of tracking operation of trains. An optimization method based on pre-intervention process was proposed to solve this problem.Firstly, the structure of CBTC and several importment technical issues were analyzed in this paper, and the coupling relationships between major sub-modules were determined. The CBTC-MAS distributed simulation platform was constructed by simulating each sub-module. Then the tracking operation of trains was simulated with actual line data. According to the result, the degree of’interference’in different tracking intervals and different safe distance was analyzed. Pre-intervention process method was used to optimize train operation, this method can avoid the’interference’ phenomenon by adding an adjustment section. In the adjustment section, suggested acceleration values were sent to the train to guide the train operation. Finally, the software implementation of CBTC-MAS distributed simulation platform was described in detail, the structure and workflow of the software were given. All simulation results were saved in a database for analysis and statistics. Entire simulation platform will be helpful for the optimization of tracking operation of trains and the study of timetable adjustment.
