In this paper, the history of the ancient city of Changsha District as an example, the relationship between historical slice technique is more ancient and modern Changsha road and between land use, comprehensive consideration, a unified quantitative branch of city land function adaptability (elastic), the optimal equilibrium point for two; followed from the historic city of city land use change to verify to keep the city branch function with adaptive function. The branch is too small will cause the lack of diversity of function branch City, too much can cause functional city waste. For branch and the city can not be ignored by the optimal balance point between the function, especially in city commercial service development intensity region is relatively high, the value of land land, how the city bearing development of strong intensity, good guide action to the road, and into the city with the diversity of function, improve land value and make the economy and local culture to balance the development of city is worthy of our in-depth study. This paper compares Changsha historical city during the period of Republic of China to the90’ s and2000branch and the land use change, transverse to Changsha historical city present situation, regional characteristics, Format layout, construction and development strength analysis, which, of all factors on the relationship between city branch.Through comparing the horizontal analysis, branch and Changsha city historical urban land function in the dynamic evolution process of the city, always with the factors of industrial layout, development intensity has elastic law of development of adaptive or maladaptive. From the research perspective, the specific realization:the period of the Republic of China urban roads densely branched adaptive bearing business and life at that time. After2000, the region history culture development and prosperity of the economy and more gradually withered form sharp contrast, the historical streets gradually no longer fit the development of contemporary business, heritage destruction. Thus, to abandon the traditional perspective study, interaction between land function from microcosmic level demonstration city branch and the city land use function, understanding branch (elastic) effect on city adaptation.
