In the21st century, with the high speed development of economy and the improvement of urbanization in China, a large number of population are concentrated in cities, and the demand of urban house is increasing. The large population and scarce land resources led directly to the city house price is very high. Moreover, many low-income families in the city according to the income survey of urban residents. There families usually to spend a lot of money to buy a large house, and this have become a burden of many families. The development of small-sized dwelling is good to solve the housing problem of many people.The small-sized dwelling is a kind of transitional form and important link in the city housing. It is many advantages have great attraction to young people. It is a new concept of city living form, and it represents a new approach to life and living culture.Young people are the main force of the urban construction and the leaders of the era. They have higher educational background and good personal cultivation, but most people are in rising stage of career. This generation has a strong sense of belonging to the family, but like freedom and independence. In daily life, they attach importance to the work, learning and social activities, and pursue fashion and personal life. Their living mode becomes unstable and liquidity.This thesis consists of five chapters. In the first chapter, the small-sized dwelling is defines and the research about it in the abroad and native is analyzed. Through the analysis mainly from the physiological and psychological characteristics, lifestyle, and residential behavior of young people, the interior design of the small-sized dwelling is researched for youth in the second chapter. The theory of interior design is introduced in the third chapter, and it research on the interior space scale, space combination and extensive design of the small-sized dwelling. Two wonderful examples of the interior design of the small-sized dwelling in Jinan are introduced and analyzed. The article realizes the integration of theory with practice. And the last chapter is the conclusion about the interior design of the small-sized dwelling. The writer gave some suggestions to enhance the comfort level of the small-sized dwelling.Based on the research content, the results of thesis is enhances practicality and comfort level of the small-sized dwelling, and meet the demand of youth. At the same time, the research results provide some new design ideas for the interior design of the small-sized dwelling, and enhance the comfort level of the small-sized dwelling.
