In the artillery of the production process, the process of using troops, artillery ammunition chamber volume measurement is an important link, propellant is placed in the artillery powder chamber and to ensure propellant combustion space, chamber volume is designed drawn based on the requirements of the artillery ballistic, With modern war artillery firing accuracy requirements increase, as well as the development of new types of artillery, such as the American artillery variable chamber volume, all of the gun chamber volume measurement accuracy and measurement methods put forward new demands.Traditional methods of measurement chamber volume is water weight method, namely the use of elastomer powder chamber quality the difference between before injection water and after injection water,then it by dividing the density of water to obtain volume.In this paper, a new way is proposed which is water chamber volume weight method based on photoelectric technology, in order to achieve initial injection we use a oil pump and syringe the liquid injection, the use of highly sensitive optical level gauge monitor liquid level changes in real-time.Finally using a digital burette to microinjection, Carried out simulation experiments based on this principle,using two different graduates imitation two kinds of ammunition chamber,through the analysis of the data shows that ten sets of measurement values of the absolute error is less than1ml, and the relative error can reach1.958%and0.5844%, also found that the main error is repeated measurements by the liquid residue and liquid surface tension.In order to reduce errors, the silicone oil can be used instead of water, and the contact plate design inhibit fluid surface tension,, which can effectively protect the measurement accuracy, this program for the gun chamber volume detection provides a new way.
