This project is located in shuanghe, Yuxi, Yunnan, which named Architectural Design for Urban Grange, shuanghe, Yuxi, Yunnan. The landform of this project includes meadow, forest, mountains and water substance. The location is rich in agriculture resource, which includes glebe, paddy field and pound. Based on the demand of this project, topography is the core of this research. Because of the different landforms and different functions of each building, it would be interesting and worth probing on combination of landforms and functions of each building. In the past, homothetic projects are usually established on regional architecture and vernacular architecture but hardly consider the connect between human and the given environment. This connect is the core of this subject study.There are five single buildings are chosen by this subject study which respectively are the tourist centre, the dining-hall, a small hotel and two different residences.The first part of this thesis define and discuss the topography and architecture design in different landforms. After this part, there are a few of maneuvers of architecture designing in different landforms. At the end of this thesis is the summary of the maneuvers.There are two sections in this thesis:the theoretical section and the practice section, which composed of six chapters.Chapter1(introduction) compendiums the condition and demands of the project, shows research target, declares the meaning of this research.Chapter2is the analysis of topography and site in architecture designing.Chapter3is the three strategies of topography in architecture designing.Chapter4, the planning of this project. On the consideration of the plan has been finished before this research, this chapter is pointing on the introduction of the background of the project.Chapter5is the core of this thesis. Most of this chapter is the discussion of topography in architecture design.Chapter6is summary of the topography in architectural design.
