Port is an economic region. It is the gateway to a country or a region. Port occupies an extremely important position in the national economy as the hub of water and land transportation system. As the core production operation of the port, ship scheduling is the foundation of all kinds of production and utilization of resources. It is an important indicator of the port management level and production efficiency. All kinds of ship scheduling optimization algorithm has also been the academic focus. This paper is based on the reading and research of previous paper about ship scheduling. Previous researchers’ study mostly focuses on one individual optimization objective of ship scheduling. It may be more applicable to container ports whose handling process are more uniform. But for the bulk cargo port which has a wide range of goods and complex loading-unloading processes, the single objective model is not fully applicable. This paper analyzed the optimization objectives and influence factors of bulk cargo port ship scheduling. It created model and optimization objectives according to actual business situation. And the model problem was solved by the multi objective optimization and genetic algorithm. Then it developed the ship scheduling system using J2EE technology. This system made up for the existing ship scheduling systems which cannot meet the complex demand of bulk cargo port. This paper promoted and deepened the intercross and penetration of ship scheduling and optimization theory, and played a guiding role in actual ship scheduling work.
