Crack on the exterior wall is a common phenomenon in the construction work. This will not only affects the appearance of the building, but also affects the safety. At present, crack is a widespread problem in construction industry, thus, study on this subject has practical significance.Scholars have done a lot of research in this area, on the basis of those literatures, in this thesis some related works are done as follows:(1) Some related points of cracks in the wall are introduced, and then different views of cracks in the wall are presented.(2) Analysis on the causes of exterior wall cracking is given, the effects of some factors including temperature changes, the shrinkage of material, the uneven settlement of foundation, the external loads, the unreasonable design and construction are also listed.(3) Some methods of identification of crack on the wall are introduced, as well as the repair of these cracks. Before confirming the cause of the crack, rectification and reform would be blindness. Observation and analysis must be taken at the first step; appropriate measures of repairing could be taken after the identification.(4) Fuzzy evaluation method is taken to choose the repairing program, and then the investigation of feasibility is showed. There are so many factors will influence the program, while such factors are fuzzy, so the choice of this method could meet the actual project.(5) A practical project-"the sunshine100teachers’ apartment of Hunan University" is given to study this subject. Comprehensive and systematic analysis of the reasons, that causing the crack and leakage on the exterior wall is showed firstly, then analysis on the controlling of the whole process for outside wall repairing, according to the principle of the controlling of whole process, is presented. Finally, the outcomes of the two programs of repair is given, the comparing of the quality of the two methods is taken in this thesis.
