The Comparative Study On The Exploration And Practice Of The Contemporary Cross-strait Regional Architecture

Regionalism developed in view of globalization, is also the inevitable result of globalization. And with the resistance of construction field to the globalization, the concept of Regional Architecture has been firmly established.Since the respective partition in1949, the exploration of the cross-strait Regional Architecture has been more than60years. And the complex temporal and spatial variation of cross-strait in the60years, makes the exploration of Regional Architecture tortuous, and also causes the different thinking of Regional Architecture between the both sides.Especially after1990, when the mainland economy develops rapidly and the construction industry becomes busy and impetuous, Taiwan architects experienced great economy development have quieted down and thought about the future seriously. A group of young architects with independent thought and social concern, have turned the exploration of Rigional Architecture to the self-localization of Taiwan, the response to the needs of social reality and the attention of local culture, and have completed a series of profound works with a professional level. In contrast to the loss of mainland facing the rapid economic development and social change, contemporary Taiwan exploration of Rigional Architecture during the20years will provide extremely precious experience and enlightenment to the mailand counterparts.So the paper is based on the review of the exploration of the cross-strait Regional Architecture, trying to illustrate specifically and compare deeply from the four aspects of the infiltration of regional culture, the nourishment of regional environment, the cultivation of community empowerment and the consensus on the sustainable concept, analyse the similarities and differences, sum up the experience and defect, and provide useful advice and reference to the benign development of China’s Regional Architecure.
