Focusing on common demands of users, the traditional product development design approach cannot meet the diversified customer demands any more nowadays under fiercer market competition and variable user demands. Therefore, we need to find a more reasonable and scientific design approach to adapt the varied market demands and quickly develop low-cost, high-quality, and personalized products. Based on3D printing background, this thesis conducts an in-depth study regarding the mass personalized design. It summarizes the three phases or forms of product design, predicts three new design patterns, and puts forward several innovative thoughts, which will hopefully serve as a theoretical guidance to the actual design application. Besides, the author raises the concept of "socialized design", which aims to attract and classify users and thereby creates an innovative system containing multiple social, commercial and cultural values. The meaning of "socialized design" lies not only to develop and expand design itself, but also the significant reforms caused by fusing the design thoughts into every level of the economy, commerce and society. The socialized design web services platform make it possible to integrate the global design resources and gather the innovative powers. On this basis, the design focus will shift from skills and professional operational capacity to design control. The design will focus on how to control things with design innovation and the ability and approach to integrate design resources.
