With the rapid development of Chinese economy and lots of roads’construction, the auto industry of China is stepping into a rapid developing period. The number of the automobile has been increasing year by year. However, the rapid development of global automobile industry causes a lot of problem, especially in aspect of energy crisis, traffic jams and pollution while cars bring huge convenience to human. The emissions lead to the ecological environment crisis. We must pay attention to the energy’ using and the pollution caused by cars’emission.New energy car, especially electric vehicle, can solve the problem of emission and fuel cost during the vehicles’using. However, the existing technology of EV restricts the scale of operation, such as the weak point in driving range and less charging facilities. Hybrid electric vehicle is now a topic direction because it combine the advantages of EV with internal combustion engine. It also has a huge improvement in fuel and emission, but it is faceing the same problem as EV. As a kind of the easiest hybrid vehicle, Start-Stop can achive the goal, because it is safe and lower requirement in technology. Start-Stop mode has become the hot spot of automobile in China in recent years.Because of traffic jams and red light in the road of city, the idle condition occupies a high proportion of running condition of motor vehicle. It caused fuel waste and emission during idle, thus a concept of "idle is a kind of waste" is becoming. In order to saving fuel, auto companies consider method of cancel idle while driving.The paper is based on the project of develop start-stop EMS system for a auto company in Delphi China technology center. Though a lot of experiments, the safety and fuel economy of Start-Stop system were confirmed. Compared the traditional engine electric system with start-stop engine system, the feature and realization of EMS is introduced. The function of start-stop engine system equipped in car is confirmed, What’s more, the fuel and emission result of the car equipped the start-stop system is got in test room by use the EUDC driving cycle. Based on the result, the start-stop car can be put into operation soon.The test indicates that the start-stop system developed by Delphi China technology center is safe. Compared with traditional vehicle, it can save0.4L/km and got the goal of saving fuel.
