Nowadays, with the benign development of the domestic macroeconomic environment,the national economy grows rapidly. At the same time, national population explosion andurban expansion have simulated the development of large capacity transports. Thedevelopment and expansion of the cities place higher requirements on urban transportation.After2015,the country will build92lines,the total mileage of2,500km,with a totalinvestment of1000billion yuan.Therefore,the subway project schedule management is thekey of the sustainable development of urban rail transportation.The subway signal system, called the brain of subways, is a comprehensiveelectromechanical system controlling train movement and arranging train dispatching. Thesystem, with complex functions, involves a great deal of project stakeholders, includingowners, suppliers, designing and supervising units. Therefore, projects on the signal systemare particularly important in the whole electromechanical system, which is much morecomplex in its project management. This paper, taking H subway signal system project as theresearch background, explores the application of modern project management theory in thesubway mechanical and electrical engineering projects. This paper, emphasizing on theproject organization mode, schedule project design as well as schedule adjustment and controlin the project management process, explains the successful project schedule control researchin H subway signal system project combining theory with practice.This paper, using correlation method, citation, quantitative analysis and basic projectmanagement tools (task decomposition, Gantt chart, critical path method, etc.), explores thestatus quo and development of domestic and international project management by bothcross-sectional and longitudinal study. Besides, it compares the features of signal systemproject construction management mode comprehensively, quantitatively estimates the projectduration and divides WBS, as well as summarizing the project schedule management andsolutions.The project has achieved good economic and social effects after acceptance, which canbe used for reference in subway signal system projects in the future. The author hopes thepaper can provide some experience to perfect subway signal system engineering andelectromechanical system project construction management by summarizing the managerialexperience of project schedule control. Meanwhile, the author hopes that, by the case of thesuccessful implementation of the project, the paper can also be helpful to the constructionmanagement personnel from all subway corporations, providing reference for large-scale construction of subways in the future and making some contribution to subway signal systemproject management.
