Two-way curved arch bridges have many advantages, such as simple construction, saving in material, and low cost, so they were widely built in the1960s and1970s. Therefore, most of the two-way curved arch bridges need being solidified currently. The deterioratedbridges which can not be used normally are reinforced so that they will continue to serveChina’s transportation business. Such a renovation will save a lot of construction funds, andallow China to keep these unique bridges with national characteristics. In this paper,Xinzhuang Bridge (three-span two-way curved arch bridges) along X387line in LianzhouCity was used as an example of bridge reinforcement. After analyzing the deterioration statusof the bridge, a reinforcement method in which it was converted into one using steelreinforced concrete and with three-hole monolithic, continuous beam structure (after thetransformation of the system, the original two-way curved arch bridge no longer need tosupport itself) was put forward in this paper. The calculation and analysis of the reinforcementmethod shows that the method is feasible and safe, and the reinforcement method has beenconfirmed further through the renovation of the bridge. This case is an important reference inthe reinforcement of two-way curved arch bridge.
