With the continuous development of social economy, electric power system reformedgradually deepening and power distribution companies began to focus on power gridreliability problems. Through continuous strengthening operational management,technological innovation and other measures to ensure the safe and stable supply of electricity,improve power supply reliability. Power distribution companies should be based on themarket, the first thing is to ensure reliable power supply. This is also the core standard ofevaluation of the service level. It is the reform and innovation direction of the power supplyenterprises.Power distribution network is a client net and it works rather special. The main work isto supply and distribute the power which is deeply influence the life of people. Distributionreliability reflects power supply and distribution capabilities directly. It also reflects therelationship of power supply and living conditions. It indicates the quality level of powersupply enterprises, including distribution network design, construction, operation, powerequipment manufacturing level. Measure the stability and effectiveness of the power supplyis mainly based on whether it can provide people with a safe and reliable supply of electricity.Therefore, from the perspective of the client system power supply, power supply reliabilitymethod is applicable to a wide range, and can achieve significant results. In order to ensuresafe and stable operation of the power supply system, power supply reliability method can bewidely used in electricity production and management activities.Based on the status quo of power supply of Chikan which is the downtown area ofZhanjiang, this thesis researched the distribution network architecture and established therelevant evaluation index. It introduced the status quo of power supply reliability analysis ofexisting methods for comparative analysis. Chikan status analysis for reliability of powerdistribution network capabilities identified weaknesses in power distribution network. Itanalyzed blackouts reasons from different perspectives and compares the impact of variousfactors. Proposed some suggestion measures to improve the reliability of power supplydistribution network. Found the best balance between reliability and economy. Consider combination of improving power supply reliability and efficiency.
