The Protection And Utilization Research On City Linear Cultural Landscape

Urban linear cultural landscape and its related landscape type is the new concept in recent years in international landscape planning and design field and international cultural heritage protection areas, and its protection and utilization method is current research hotspot issues. The method and case study of urban linear cultural landscape was taken to search for sustainable development way in the context of urbanization, Changsha city used as a case.There are four phases in the study of urban linear cultural landscape. Landscape characteristics analysis is the first step. Then the landscape value assessment should be taken in historic culture, ecology, recreation and aesthetic appreciation, society and economy, and composite calculation and comparison according to the different weight. After that, the principles of protection and utilization planning and spatial structure of landscape corridors should be put on for various value and function of urban linear cultural landscape. At last, the planning strategies of protection and utilization and sustainable development should be classified and the practice model should be discussed.The urban area in Changsha city was studied based on above method. Its landscape characteristics and landscape value were assessed and the planning strategies were put on, which included five urban river corridors, five urban linear parks, five historic districts, four urban boulevards, three railway corridors. The case study proved that the method was useful.
