Spatial datas can be inputed, stored, managed, analyzed and outputed in Geographic Information System(GIS). Urban Geographic Information System(UGIS) is an application of Urban Information Management in GIS.At the core of the urban underground pipeline information management system is management in spatial information and attribute information of urban underground pipelines. Making a better use of the the technology of GIS,spatial database,computer graphics and information visualization can help manage urban underground pipelines. It can be provided auxiliary decision function for the leading department through the various spatial analyses.In this paper,the urban underground pipeline information management system is set up by using Unified Modeling Language(UML) and Object Orient Analysis&Design(OOAD) technology.It is divided into three periods:Object Orient analysis(OOA),Object Orient design(OOD) and Object Orient Programming(OOP).In OOA,system vision and system demand which include different users’ demand,pipeline data management demand and function demand are discussed.The demand analysis results are drawn as use cace diagrams in UML by Microsoft Office Visio2007.In OOD,building lines and developing key technology are studied.The system is developed by Microsoft Visual Studio2010(VS2010) and Microsoft SQL Server2008.The system design is devided into pipeline data management design and function design.Pipeline’s type and attribute is studied and then the pipeline data organization is set up.The system funtions are defined according to the demand analysis results.At lase,in OOP,the system is developed by using Microsoft Foundation Class(MFC) in VS2010.It provides the functions of urban underground pipeline data editing,updating, browse, query, analysis, statistics and so on.STL is used in coding of pipeline data management. Connectedness analysis is implemented.Direct connectedness analysis algorithm and connectedness analysis algorithm are put forward.
