Nowadays, Energy and environment problem have been upgraded to a socialproblem, But China is a resource big country, for various beneficial resources existingin the development and utilization of iron ore tailings attached great importance, suchas the precious resources, China’s waste iron ore tailings resource is rich, theestimated quantity of waste iron ore tailings is5billion tonnes. However,theutilization rate is low,tailings covers large area, Environmental pollution is nowfacing the problem of comprehensive utilization of iron ore tailings. Therefore, theapplication of tailings in building materials will be an effective way of comprehensiveutilization of tailings. China is in the stage of construction, the building energyconsumption accounts for about a third of the country’s total energy consumption, irontailings mixed in the foamed concrete to make lightweight thermal insulationmaterials of energy saving, environmental protection and saving land, which will havea profound impact in our country.Iron ore tailings foam concrete as a new buildingmaterial, which meets the national requirement of innovation about the wall materials.In this paper, we study various functions of iron ore tailings foam concrete.In this paper,we study the compressive strength and flexural strength of iron oretailings foam concrete,when mixed different fineness and different dosage of iron oretailings. Experiment research found: With the increasing of iron tailings, thestrength of the iron ore tailings foam concrete increases, and when the iron ore tailingsdosage is68%of cement content,the compressive strength and flexural strength ofiron ore tailings foam concrete reach maximum value.At the same dosage of iron oretail,the foam concrete strength is higher with the particle size of iron ore tail mineralpowder less than0.1mm than the particle size of0.2mm-0.3mm, The content andfineness of the iron ore tail obviously improve the compressive strength and flexuralstrength of the iron ore tail foam concrete.In this paper, we study the fluence of different water cement ratio on thecompressive strength and flexural strength of iron tailings foam concrete, at the samedensity. The results prove that, when the pulp of water cement ratio is thick,thecement can’t be completely hydrated, and the strength of iron tailings foam concreteis low. when the pulp of water cement ratio is too shin,the phenomenon of layering,bleeding, sinking will appear. Appropriate water-cement ratio can improve thecompressive strength and flexural strength of iron tailings foam concrete.In theexperiment,when the water cement ratio is0.48, the compressive strength and flexuralstrength of iron tailings foam concrete reach the maximum, and the liquidity and workability are very good.In this paper, we study the anti-cracking ability of iron tailings foam concrete,Mixed with the right amount of poly acrylic fiber can improve the anti-crackingability of iron ore tail foam concrete,and the compressive strength and flexuralstrength also will improve. When the content of the poly acrylic fiber is0.2%,thecracking index of iron tailings foam concrete is reduced by30%, with the increasingof fiber, the cracking index obviously decreases.However too much fiber will affectthe macroscopic properties of iron ore tail foam concrete.In this paper, we study the strength, water absorption, coefficient of thermalconductivity of iron ore tails foam concrete, with the different apparent density. Theresults prove that when the apparent density is low,the water absorption is high,andthe coefficient of thermal conductivity is low. when the apparent density is high, thewater absorption is low, and the coefficient of thermal conductivity is high.In this paper, we study the fluence of different mineral admixture on thecompressive strength of iron ore tail foam concrete.The silica fume and fly ash bothcan improve the compressive strength.However the quantity of silica fume can’t betoo high, such the reason the cost of iron ore tail foam concrete will be improved,Silica fume is easy to agglomerate due to the fairly fineness.In this paper, we study the influence of the admixture on iron tailings foamconcrete, The experiment results show that when the dosage of water reducing agentis0.3%, the compressive strength of iron ore tails foam concrete reaches themaximum, and the7d compressive strength increased by41.7%, the28dcompressive strength increased by34%. When water reducing agent, early strengthagent and accelerating agent are used at the same time, the early strength of irontailings foam concrete improves significantly, the time of form stripping significantlyis shortened, the right amount of early strength agent and accelerating agent has littleeffects on the later strength of the iron ore tails foam concrete.Finally, we analyze the microscopic pore structure of the iron ore tails foamconcrete, The analysis instrument of the experiment is the scanning electronmicroscope (sem).The test results show that the pore size, pore distribution and pore size of the iron ore tail are connected with foaming agent content, apparent densityand other factors.
