The smart grid has become the latest trends of the development of the powersystem, and is considered to be the major scientific and technological innovat ion, aswell as the development trend of the power system in the21st century. Electricityinformation collection system, as an integral part of smart grid construction, will besimultaneous growth rapidly. The construction of Electricity information collect ionsystem is the inevitable choice of the State Grid Corporation to promote the "twotransformations" and the implementation of the "Three set of five", and is animportant component of strong smart grid construction,as well as the basic conditionsfor supporting the implementation of policies of multistep electricity price. The PowerFiber to The Home(PFTTH) construction project is an important part of the smart gridfor the State Grid Corporation, with the passive optical network (PON) technology, ittakes on the electricity information collection, smart power two-way interaction, and"tri-networks integration" business.Combined with the demand for the the residentselectricity information collection system and the advantages of the EPON technology,a new information collection process is designed, the design and implementation ofelectricity with real-time information collected ONU method is described in detail, and a real-time meter reading combined with pre-reading software solutions isproposed.(1) The EPON technology is adopted to improve remote access network ofelectricity information collection system, and a new set of communication processesis designed. The new communication process using three communication links, twocommunication protocols to improve the reliability and stability of the system.(2) A new type of power ONU communication terminal is designed andimplemented. The terminal uses the EPON dedicated chip of Cortina, and downwardreserves UART port to connect to the smart meters. The function and hardware designof each module is detailed.(3) A multi-threaded real-time acquisition program is proposed and implemented,in which a real-time meter reading combined with pre-reading method is used toimprove the real-time response speed of the system. The degign flow of each threadmodule is detailed, the communication process and logical relationship between thevarious threads module is presented. The software running in the embedded real-timeoperating system eCos and the system migration process is detailed. Finally, professional testing environment and acquisition software is used to test variousfunctions of the terminal, and analysis of the test results is given. Finally, we analysis the problems and shortcomings of this research project andpresent the corresponding solutions, and give our opinions and views on the directionof future research in this topic.
