Collision accidents are usually caused by improper maneuvering when the two ships arecaught in imminent danger. However, there are few research conducted by domestic and foreignscholars on how to take coordinated collision avoidance decision-making in imminent danger orreduce the collision losses. Masters, pilots should be trained in accordance with assessmentspecification requirements of the "Bridge Resource Management in STCW Convention and theMSA.Therefore, studying the strategy of emergency ship maneuvering in imminent danger israther necessary, which is of high value for the safety of navigation and marine simulatortraining and teaching in academic research and practical applications.This article will focus onthe related models and algorithms about ship maneuvering in the imminent danger on the relatedmodels and algorithms, focusing on ship maneuvering in the imminent danger with a method ofcombining geometric analysis and simulation experiments. The main works are as follow:(1)Optimize the decision-making model and algorithm of coordinated collision avoidancedecision-making in imminent danger based on the research results of Personifying IntelligentDecision-making for Vessel Collision avoidance(PIDVCA), we further optimize the quantitativemodel of the radius estimation in collision area and the model of the distance in imminent dangersituation; putting forward the concept of maximum critical distance in imminent danger situation,and the system determines whether two ships are in imminent danger situation; applied with therelative movement of the geometric analysis and simulation results, based on the two shipsencounter character,it analyze the two vessel’s basic encounter situation, form the coordinateddecision-making table for collision avoidance in imminent danger, optimize the the algorithm ofcoordinated collision avoidance decision-making in imminent danger.(2)The primary research on ships handling decision of reduce losses in imminent danger arepresented.The concept of critical distance of minimum losses in collisions has been putforward,and established the model of estimating critical distance of minimum losses in collisionsby using the method of the true motion analyzing;through analyzing a mass of literature andsummarizing the factors of collision loss, we established collision loss of two-dimensionalweights table; based on critical distance of minimum losses in collisions, the encounter situationof two ships and collision loss of two-dimensional weights table, ships handling decision ofreduce losses in imminent danger has been confirmed.(3) Put forward the representation of the algorithm of case database, established the databaseof imminent Maneuvering; By using the exploit tool Visual C++we can put the designed coordinated collision avoidance decision-making in imminent danger and the algorithm of shipshandling decision of reduce losses into the PIDVCA algorithm,using the way of DLL (Dynamiclink library) to embed SIHC the simulation platform for ship controlling, realized theauto-retrieval of maneuvering strategic; Based on the coordinated collision avoidancedecision-making table in imminent danger to design the experiment program, test and verify theeffectiveness of algorithm of coordinated collision avoidance decision-making through designingstimulate example of meeting in right front a prow. To verify the feasibility of ships handlingdecision of reduce losse.(4) Based on the research achievement of PIDVCA, put forward the design idea and the wayof realizing about the decision support module of emergency collision avoidance designed andimplemented the UI interface for coordinated collision avoidance decision-making in imminentdanger and hips handling decision of reduce losses in imminent danger; Explore the idea ofdecision support module of emergency collision avoidance used in marine simulator andteaching practice.
