The Chinese traditional geomantic omen was widely used in architecture and urban planning, composed three pillars of the traditional Chinese architectural culture together with tectonics and gardening. Recent years, with recognition and research of feng shui by numerous experts from both home and abroad, we found many of its scientific connotations and its guiding function in the formation of garden art and Garden landscape desig, after brushing the dust of superstition. Therefore, through the study of traditional feng shui, opened up a new road to design theory, which shown an important value for environmental planning and design of the modern landscape. Based on this, in the present study, we used villa27, one of the second phase of Chuangyuan Xiangjiang1st as research object, and proposed a villa courtyard landscape project design by referring and collecting documents and by comprehensive analysis, through field survey and the use of geomantic ecology, geomantic aesthetics, geomantic psychology and other related theories. The main findings are as follows:(1) Highlight the cultural connotation of the Chinese traditional feng shui theory. Studies suggest that culture has been the soul of the social development, and it is the historical heritage requirement that confer villa courtyard landscape on cultural connotation. Fully excavated the cultural connotation of Chinese traditional feng shui theory, guiding the layout, design and naming of villa courtyard and landscape, not only promote the cultural relish of villa landscape, but also provide a way to understand Chinese traditional feng shui theory as well as the history and development of villa courtyard and landscape.(2) Focus on ecology thinking of the Chinese traditional feng shui theory. Proposed that the villa courtyard itself is in the natural system and giving it biodiversity is the requirement of the natural ecological environment. The "nature-human integration" in feng shui theory paid attention to only on the basis of complying with nature and following the laws of nature, can we transform nature and achieve the harmonious unity of human and nature. This is one of the standards to evaluate the pros and cons of a villa courtyard landscape, only when it in accordance with the thinking of "nature-human integration", can it be regarded as a ecotypic villa courtyard landscape with favorable ecological benefits, cultural connotation, strong artistic inspiration and distinctive characteristics of the times.(3) Reflect the people-oriented thinking in Chinese traditional feng shui theory. Proposed that the idea of people-oriented should be applied to villa courtyard design, namely to consider any factors of whole layout, positions, plastic arts from a user’s point of view when designing a landscape. Met the leisure and entertainment needs of the villa courtyard landscape, and enhanced assistant effects on people’s physical and mental health at the same time.Villa courtyard landscape design should be guided by Chinese traditional feng shui theory, stressed the special role of its environment on people’s physical and mental health, given full pay to the ecological benefits and artistic inspiration, combined the cultural connotation of feng shui theory, and created eco-villa courtyard landscape with distinctive characteristics.
