Abstract/Summary:
The rise of the mould industry not only direct service for machinerymanufacturing, but also mould industry apply many advanced technology. Espec-ially the combination of CAD/CAM technology and NC processing perfectly haschanged the mould industry fundamentally. The casting by Mold produced hassome prominent advantages, such as high precision, high productivity, low powerconsumption. There is no other manufacturing process can compare with moldproduction. So the development level of mould industry to a great extent,determines the level of industrial development.The use of CAD/CAM software for mould design and processing can shortenthe development cycle significantly, improve design and manufacturing quality,lower cost and rapid response to market, to replace a series of conventionalmethods of low efficiency and difficulty. UG is relatively good in CAD/CAMsoftware and it has lesding role in manufacturing,and it is one of the mostadvanced and popular design software.This article is through the UG software combined with production practice,processing aluminum alloy gearbox.The process using UG software to aluminummould and sand mould, and introduce the process which the creativeness ofcavity/core and mold, as well as the design of the top of release mechanism andgating systerm, and the whole assemble detailly. And write NC machiningprocess of mould cavity and core.After determined the overall design, the gravitycasting method is selected to complete product forming process. The complexstructure and strict processing precision of the cavity and core in the design andproduction, lead difficulty of using the traditional processing equipment toprocess and mold in the design and production. So we adopt precision NC processing equipment---Machining Center. The program used by the machiningcenter program under the UG processing module.Each process in the paper isdescribed detailly.To get the part which sharp and size is qualified, after preliminary getproducts still need to use NC drilling machine and other machine tool forprocessing, finally met quality requirements of parts. Through this set of gravitycasting mould design, mould numerical control processing and productionoptimization analysis which make CAD/CAM software and NC machinecombine with the actual production come ture.
