Study On The Middle School Campus Reconstruction Planning

The middle school campus scale expansion increased the school reconstruction projects, study on reconstruction and expansion design of middle school campus is indispensable. The school campus expansion can be roughly divided into two categories:the expansion based on original construction and choosing another new site to build the new campus.This paper mainly focuses on the former,the design of which pays more attention on how to maintain the harmonious relationship between the old and the new.As the basis of the specific architecture and exterior space design,it is a very crucial step to make a good arrangement about the old and the new at the beginning stage of the overall planning. In view of urban planning and construction planning theory, we divied the campus planning design process into three parts,which include prophase planning, construction of planning system,and the overall design, then introduce the program and methods in these stages of reconstruction.In the programming stage, we divide the process into four steps:setting up project and goals, collecting information and parsing problems, finding ways and optimizing requirements, making report, based on the theory about architectural programming of Pro.Zhuang Weimin and William. We point out the special tasks should be attention to the old, the new image, the allocation of resources and the development sequence, which are different from the common campus programming.To construct a planning system is mainly to set the land properties and construction situation. There are three steps to finish this work, understanding the characteristics of status, putting forward design methods, and complete planning system. In other words, we should know the present situation of campus from the perspectives of layout and development trend first, then implement the planning system by processing the five elements,namely road, area, boundary,nodes and markers, referencing Kevin lynch’s city image. Due to the particularity of middle school campus reconstruction planning, we put out some initial starting point, including the axis, partition, outer space, natural environment and culture,and achieve the ways to make the new in harmony with the old, including foil, assimilation, gradients and contrast.Overall design is to control the planning in three dimensions, which includes the overall architectural design and external space design. In the overall architectural design, it is important to keep the unity of the new and old buildings. In this chapter, we show some ways to solve this problem, for example, through extension or improvement on the original basis, repetition of the same form, and so on. But how to deal with the different forms is difficult. We find some control methods,including geometric control, balance control, differential control and contrast control,etc. When making a planning on the overall outer space, we should consider the nature, functions,scales and hierarchy of it, in order to create a good learning environment for students.The results of overall planning is the guidance of specific architecture and outer space design. In the middle school campus reconstruction projects, the specific design should obey the demands and respect the results of the overall planning to better achieve a harmonious campus environment.
