A Study On The Punctuality Rate Of Urban Transit

Quality of urban public transport development will not only directly affect the development of the city but also to improve the quality of people’s lives, because of the urban public transport is not only an important indicator of urban development as well as closely related to people’s critical infrastructure. Giving priority to the development of urban public transport has been widely recognized and accepted, at the same time it is the only way to ease traffic congestion and to improve the traffic efficiency of resource use. In today’s increasingly rich material life, people have higher requirements for the quality of public transport services. Service reliability is generally concerned indicator of quality of modern rail transport services that passengers to evaluated, and the punctuality rate is the most commonly used and the most intuitive service reliability indicators. Higher punctuality rate the higher the level of the development of public transport, the greater the level of development of attractive people, therefor researching and improving urban public transport punctuality rate is not only to provide a safe, on-time, convenient and comfortable travel service but also lower operating costs for the improvement of economic efficiency of the operational organization, for urban resource optimization configuration and its urban development would have an inconvenient significance.This paper analyse various factors affecting punctuality rate and present a set of calculation model that have two levels that is punctuality rate based on line(PIL) and stops(PIS), through learning of a large number of domestic and overseas literature theoretical knowledge which correlation with punctuality rate. Combining theoretical knowledge with actual situation of bus lines operating, then state the inner connection between PIL and PIS. Case Study of Dalian City, investigating and analysing21bus and202streetcar which two different means of transport and presenting the passenger flow weighted method that calculate PIL. This paper give some effective improvement measures of lower punctuality rate. Finally, through the design of the questionnaire,statistical evaluation punctuality rate standard level.
