Facility layout refers to production efficiency, utilization rate of workshop and rational allocation of resources and so on, which greatly affects the enterprise’s overall efficiency. Efficient layout scheme can reduce production cost, increase production efficiency and speed up the response to the market demand. So in modern enterprise facility layout has more and more attention. Based on D enterprise as the research object, this paper studies two typical production line layouts. An one is bogie assembly line, and the other is an axle processing line. By evaluating and optimizing the two production lines, reasonable evaluation result and improvement scheme is put forward to optimize production line layout and to enhance the efficiency of the production logistics system. In addition this paper combines the quantitative analysis and system simulation technology. Simulation technology is applied to analyse, optimize and validate facilities planning, so that enterprises can effectively avoid high risk and cost burden in order to validate whether the design and optimization is reasonable.This paper will use the facilities planning and basic industrial engineering related theory, and combine D enterprise related information of bogie production processing with current production line layout of bogie production workshop of new factory to carry out the following research:(1) Introduce selected topic background and research significance, elaborate both at home and abroad facility arrangement research and application present situation, and summarize the paper’s main research content and structure.(2) Analyse classification, principle and basic form of facility layout and the relationship between production organization mode and facility layout. Emphatically analyze the influence of non-logistics factors to facility layout and detailedly lay down non-logistics evaluation index and evaluation standard in order to prepare theoretical work for the following layout evaluation and optimization of bogie assembly line and axle processing line.(3) Analyse the current layout situation and process flow of bogie assembly line and axle processing line, calculate every day logistics quantity of the two production lines, and use SLP method to evaluate and optimize bogie assembly line and axle processing line.(4) In addition, combine computer simulation technology with logistics technology to analyze facilty layout from the perspective of production line balance. Analyze the axle processing production line balance and apply simulation software Em-plant to analyze the layout of axle processing line evaluated and optimized by SLP. Finally, obtain the last axle processing line optimization layout scheme.
