Application Of Green Design In Product Packaging Design

With social progress and development, productivity has improved continuously. With the demand for products from a single function to diversify, the use of modern design came into being and developed in depth from all aspects, linked with the social needs closely, showing a wide range of situations. With scientific and technological progress and development, the inevitable increase in energy consumption changed our living environment. The depletion of many resources and ecological environment has been damaged severely. Many types of pollution threatening the survival of our industrial civilization to harm the environment have been paid attention. How to create a new relationship between men and nature has become social concern widespread, and "green design" is pointed out to the development direction or this issue.Green Design takes the people, products and the environment into account, seeking a harmonious development of the three best design approaches. It requires that products should meet the design requirements, but in the design methodology and design process, it will protect the ecological environment as a criterion, uphold the strategy of sustainable development, under the premise of the protection of natural values, then create more social value, so to achieve man and nature sync prosperity.This paper introduces the green design concept, origin and development systematically. Green design summarizes the methods, principles and significance of the green design concept which elaborates product design and packaging design for the specific requirement that selection concept, modeling concepts, functional concepts, color concepts, etc. The analysis of green products and packaging design linked necessarily, which based on product packaging materials, packaging structure, packaging waste recycling, packaging methods, etc.Finally, summarize the necessity and the methods of the integrity of product design and packing design, under the background of green design. Then take examples for green products packaging design for analysis. This new green approach, not only designs for the product itself greenly, but also becomes part of the product packaging. Combining the product packaging and green designs extends the life of the product, also increases the attaching value of the package, which fully represents the green design essence and core.
