The concept and prospects of solar thermal power generation is introduced briefly. The principle and advantages of tower thermal power system is summarized. With a view to the importance of steam turbine Digital Electric Hydraulic control system (referred to DEH) and thermal system for tower thermal power system, thire structure, control theory and system design is elaborated. On this basis, the following contributions are made in this paper:1. Based on the technological characteristics of tower solar thermal power generation system, the start process and primary frequency regulation function of DEH control system is improved to achieve a quick start. It speeds up the process of adjusting the speed fluctuation so that dynamic response is raised up and energy consumption is effectively saved.2. In response to this situation the fluctuation characteristics of turbine operation parameter, the shortcomings of traditional DEH control method are analyzed. In the operation interval, the complex solution is proposed based on sliding pressure operation. Constant pressure operation is as auxiliary in low and high period. Energy conversion efficiency is raised by this way. Meanwhile, the control scheme is studied in detail.3. Around the core point of thermal energy transfer, superheated steam generation and regulation, the importances are introduced with thermal energy storage and release solution, automatic main steam pressure regulation scheme and steam source switch technology. A detail analysis of the principle is studied for its control strategy.4. Due to the complex constitutes of the thermal system, there is a variety of opration. In this paper, turbine control systems, heating systems and steam turbine for the overall operation of programs are analyzed and discussed.At last, the whole paper is summarized. Meanwhile, the future development direction and application prospect of tower solar thermal power generation system is forecasted.In this paper, it focuses on the target for a safe and efficient operation of the turbine generation unit, associated with actual system process of the tower solar thermal generation system closely. The turbine DEH control system has successfully been carried out in a solar tower power plant, where the turbine generator is successful continuous and stable operation. The achievement of expected test generation is completely reached. It will have reference value on solar thermal power generation for future similar applications.
