Electromagnetic relay is widely used in communication circuit, Machine Tool circuit,automatic control circuit, home appliances circuit, automotive electrical circuit, the devices ofremote control, telemetry, mechatronics and Power electronics. It is a device that high-voltage,high-current is controlled by low voltage, weak current and has functions of signaltransmission and control. Electromagnetic relay is one of basic components used in electronicsystem, it’s characteristics affect the reliability of the whole system. Mechanical parameterand electrical parameter of the electromagnetic relay as the most important index reflect thechange in contact reliability parameters, mechanical parameters is discussed to determinewhether the electromagnetic relay can be used. The research of Reliability Test System ofelectromagnetic relay has important significance and practical value.Domestic electromagnetic relay tester has the disadvantage of low resolution, only10μs,this paper proposes the overall design of the electromagnetic relay reliability parameter testsystem in order to obtain higher reliability parameters after analyzing the automatic testtechnology at home and abroad. The parameters test of touch time, the free movement timeand overtravel time which have a significant impact on study of the dynamic performance andreliability of the electromagnetic relay is neglected in the past. A multi-channel synchronoushigh-speed data acquisition and processing unit which use DSP as core controller is designedcombined with the characteristics of electromagnetic relay such as short dynamic processtime, mass data and so on in this paper. Pull-in voltage, release voltage and the parameterssuch as pull-in time, release time, bounce time, the arcing time, the constant time of the coilcircuit, overtravel time, touch time, free movement time are able to calculate throughwaveform acquisition of contact voltage, power supply voltage and the coil current of theelectromagnetic relay in order to research the performance and reliability of the product.The test system which is used to test the time constant of the electromagnetic relay has thecharacteristics of high accuracy, Comprehensive measurement, real-time test(A/D samplingfrequency is up to1MHz, the time resolution is1μs). It provides an effective way to gaugethe reliability and quality of the electromagnetic relay.
