Relay is a kind of auto control apparatus, which is acted with the special input signal. As the relay is widely used in many kinds of control systems, in order to ensure these systems'reliability and security, we must do a high efficient, objective and full-scale test. Among them, the second pick-up of electromagnetic relay is an important parameter. Based on the establishment of the relay model, it is an inevitable trend to analyze of the second pick-up of relay causes and the dynamic process, to study the influence factors and find detection method proposed by the second pick-up of relay to design intelligent instrumentation. With the rapid development of microelectronics technology, MCU is widely used in the detection area of SCM, and has many advantages. Therefore, the detection technology of relays based on single chip has been an important research area of academia.This paper establishes a mathematical model of electromagnetic relays based on the principle of electromagnetic relays and physical properties, using mechanical system dynamics simulation software ADAMS. Through the research of the relay coil voltage, coil current and air gap signal, we can find the reason and the factors causing the second pick-up of electromagnetic relay. ADAMS can build and test virtual prototypes, and then perform a set of approximate actual situation of the motion simulation to it, so the result from the mechanical system is the actual movement of the working process. A real circuit board and some other works are not needed. So it can reduce development costs and improve development efficiency.Based on these studies, a relay parameter measurement system is developed, using microcontroller as the core. In order to achieve the relay parameters intelligently, the system makes use of the PC operation to get the real-time detection of selected parameters and displays them on the human-computer interaction. The system mainly consists of hardware and software components. The hardware is based on PIC18F452 microcontroller including detection circuit, programmable power supply design, the external signal conditioning circuit and the serial port circuit communicating with the host computer. Software part, using C language to design testing procedures of the voltage, data processing, display program and other serial communication program, using VC++6.0 to design PC program to communicate with the host computer interactive interface.
