Design and Application of Air Conditioning System of Backhoe LoaderWith the development of the domestic and foreign construction machinery, thecompetitiveness of the domestic manufacturers in this field continues to improve, oneof the world’s top five construction machinery backhoe loader has already been settledin China. Domestic main manufacturer’s technical level has been greatly improvedcompared with previous, and their products have been sold around the world.However, the performance of domestic backhoe loaders is generally lower than that inEuropean countries, America and other developed countries. And the air conditioningsystem also gets behind the developed countries. In this article, the cooling andheating load of air conditioning system is calculated and designed to simulate theenergy consumption of backhoe loader cab, in order to use for the reference andunderstanding of the other designers.This article has the following described and studied:1. Introduction of the air conditioning system components and features inbackhoe loader, the quality indicators for the air conditioner and the development ofthe backhoe loader air conditioning technologies in China;2. Calculation of the cooling and heating load backhoe loader cab, taking anexample of a model of backhoe loader cab;3. The operating principles of air conditioning system for backhoe loaders aredescribed. The functions of air conditioning system components are analyzed andtheir features are introduced. The layout and the electrical control circuit principles ofthe air conditioning system for backhoe loaders are elaborated.4. Based on actual experiments of the backhoe loader cab from a company, thearticle confirms whether the cooling and heating power of the air conditioning systemfor the backhoe loader can meet the requirements for cooling or heating.This article is expected to help more backhoe loader designers for the datacollection and statistics in terms of air conditioning system of backhoe loaders, so asto lay solid foundation for their future design and also for the continuousimprovement in the future.
