The rotary piston engine is a new power source which has cramped constructionand very high power density. It is made up of differential drive mechanism and cylindersystem. During working period, the cylinder system undertakes the mechanical load andthermal load. The corresponding mechanism design and character analyse are the maincontent in syudying new engine. A new kind of cylinder system is put up in this article,which has an evident advantage on structure and movement comparing with thetraditional engine. Based on the special structure of the engine, the theoretic study andsimulation can offer theoretic foundation and technical instructor for manufacturing theengine. To sum up, the main results in this paper contain the following areas:1) The structure design of the rotary piston engine: According to the parametersand performance requirement of the engine, Based on the principle of economy andreliability, the whole structure of the rotary piston engine is designed. The3D model isestablished, the theory of the gear-link mechanism and the nesting cylinder aredisplayed here, and the parameter of the cylinder system is obtained.2) The kinematical modeling and analysis of cylinder system in rotary pistonengine: Based on the straight cylinder coordinates and the movement parameterdefining, the kinematical model of the rotor, piston and rod is built up. The model isanalyzed in matlab, the graph of displacement and angle of the subassembly is displayed.The kinematical characters are studied here.3) The dynamics modeling and analysis of cylinder system in rotary piston engine:The modeling principle and the method are explained, the structure is simplified and theworking condition is set. The mechanical analyse is applied to the rotor piston and rod.The mechanical performance is studied based on the model.4) The kinematics simulation of the cylinder system in rotary piston engine: Thestatic mechanism, mode and the kinematical character are simulated in ANSYS andADAMS. The strength and stiffness of the rotor, piston and link is checked. The innerfrequency and main mode is obtained. The track of the mass center is displayed; thereliable of the theory model and the feasibility of the machanism is validated.
