The rotary piston engine is a new type of engine, which is lighter, morepowerful, more simple and more promising. The seal effect of the present structures of those new type engines is poor. A newtype of seal structure could improve the shortage effectively. This article comes up witha special intaking and Exhausting System to satisfy the requirement of the engine. Themain topics which concern the structure design and performance analyses are listedbelow:1. The requirements of the intaking and exhausting system are fully considered. The structure of this system is established. According to the special structure andkinematics characters of the rotary piston engine, a new kind of cam model whicharranges the cam around and fixes the rocker and the valve on the cylinder is built inorder to carry out the imaginary functions,a mechanism to adjust the clearance betweenthe valve and the cylinder is brought forward.2. After designing the cam profile, kinematic character is studied. A seven termshigh order polynomial is built using high order polynomial fitting method which iswidely used. The coefficients of the fitting model are given here according to the realmodel. And some calculating programs are built in MATLAB to easy the study process.3. A multi-body dynamic model is built to analyze the dynamic performance. After establishing the multi-body dynamic model using Lagrange equation we useRunge-Kutta method to calculate the dynamic response. A GUI program is built inMATLAB. Applying the different initial condition to the program we achieved thecorresponding results.4. After building a3-D model in ADAMS, we run the dynamic and kinematicalsimulation program of the virtual prototype. After importing the3-D model which wasbuilt in SolidWorks into ADAMS, we apply the restrictions and a motion to the model. The models of the valve and the rocker are imported to ANSYS. The FEMs areachieved after setting the corresponding parameter. Those FEM are imported into theADMAS to replace the rigid parts of the valve and rocket existing in ADAMS. In theend a simulation is carried out, the dynamic response is achieved. The results of the calculations and simulations show that the intaking andexhausting system performs well. It still works well considering the stiffness of themechanism.
