Today, the rapid development of science and technology takes us into a new era, itmakes our life link with intelligent building increasingly. From environment and equipmentmonitoring to housing safety, and to fire alarm, etc, in the area of intelligent building there aremore and more devices to be controlled. Also with the deepening of the concept of energysaving, intelligent building takes more attention to low-power, low-cost, high-efficiencyenergy-saving mode. The purpose of building intelligent building is to greatly meet the user’sneeds for safety, convenience and fast high quality of life, under the premise of the leastenergy consumption. In the global context of increasingly tight resources, the traditional way of buildingsystems-using cable brings a lot of problems: The initial construction of the wiring takes up alot of space resources of the building, and the fixity of wiring also brings enormous trouble tosystem improvement and maintenance in the latter. In all, the shortcoming of traditional wayof using wire in resources and costs makes intelligent building encounter a big bottleneck. The emergence of wireless sensor technology brings new revolution to the field ofintelligent building. This paper compares various wireless communication technology, andproposes a building monitoring system under Wi-Fi network environment. The system selectsAX22001embedded single-chip microcontroller as the core, implement the collection of thetemperature data, smoke and infrared alarm information successfully. All the research work isas follows:1. The article states the related knowledge of the Wi-Fi network. Specific contentincludes introduction the concept of Wi-Fi, advantages, version, components of the work, security issues and prospects.2. The article designs the system hardware. Compares respective advantages of severalwireless communication technology and characteristics of the network model, and determinesthe microcontroller and the overall program we used in the system. Then it designs a powersupply module, a temperature acquisition module, combustible gas detection and infraredalarm module, a control interface module and display module.3. The article designs the system software. Analyses the overall software architecture, and explains the functionality of each module and the entire workflow of the system. Then it completes software design of the communication between MCPU and WCPU, temperatureacquisition and control, smoke and infrared alarm function.4. Builds a monitoring system in the laboratory, and tests the system. The result showsthat the system can work normally and stably, and achieves the requirements of the originaldesign.
