Research On The Parking Problems And Solutions Of The Old City District

With the economic development, the urban transport system was taken so muchpressure. The old city district with fragile traffic infrastructure which is impacted by thetorrent of vehicles, gave its dynamic traffic tremendous press, and the weak the statictraffic system have been broken as well.This paper will analysis the related features of the old city district diverse ways,including the land using, the population, the business conditions, the building intensiveand traffic situations which is different with the characteristics of the other area. Bycollecting and analyzing the parking characteristics which is investigated in some old citydistrict, to reveal the driver’s parking characteristics in old city district, and found out thedifference of the parking characteristics between the old city district and the other area.Based on those characteristic sand the current parking situation of old city district, weexcavate the reason on the parking phenomenon in the old city district.Refer to the international advanced solving strategies on parking problem, considerits industrialization, land area, the population density, the car development policy and soon, analyzing its background based on parking supply, distribution, charge andmanagement. Discussing this from three levels: in macro, neutral and micro view andselecting some strategy which is suitable for the land using and traffic conditions in theold city district, such as traffic demand management, multiform parking type, trafficimpact analysis and extra ancillary parking facilities. Taking those strategies as a guidanceon solving the parking problems.Based on those result, take the old city district in Huangshi as an example. weproposed the solutions about the parking problems systematically, which provided theguidance and reference for other cities to solve the parking problems in the old citydistrict.
