With the rapid development of economy, we have a rich material life. When peopleenjoy it, the requirement on spiritual life is also increasing. So many products for thespiritual needs have successively developed with the advancements. As a result, museums, art gallery and commercial pavilions are thriving. Especially because of the successfulhosting of the2010world expo in Shanghai the exhibition space designs have been takento a whole new level. However, in its development behind so many problems come out.Seeking Beautiful forms and luxurious works partially will make a waste of display space, which conflict with Energy saving and emission reduction on sustainable development. This paper introduces exhibition design’s trends, some new technique and someinnovative concepts about advanced designs with graphic texts. It mainly makes study forthe problems from two aspects which are the lack of space and the short in energy. Someexamples will be given accordingly, which prove the validity of the green design’smethods in exhibition space.Specific reasoning process contains five parts:The second chapter analyzes the spatial properties and theory of green design. Fromanalysis and research on typical cases of China and foreign countries, we can find outadvantages and disadvantages about exhibition design in order to illustrate the necessity ofgreen design in exhibition space. The third chapter introduces the methods of green design to be used in exhibitionspace. It elaborates how to use the space effectively. The methods from macro design tomicro design can increase space utilization. In the meantime, it analyses the situation ofthermal energy and light energy. Then it completes the green design for the exhibition inthe method of space design but architectural technology. The fourth chapter classifies all the methods about green design in the third chapter. From the beginning of the design process to the end, it makes a table about the methods inevery design’s phase. The fifth chapter puts all the green methods about exhibition space design intopractice. With the museum design of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, for example, it tells us how to design in use of the green methods in the tabularclassification for illustrating the feasibility of them. The sixth chapter indicates the green designs can be carried out. And we can lookinto the design’s future.
