Analysis Of Static Performance On Small Skew Continuous Box Girder Bridge

In process of the bridge designing， skew girder bridge’s emergence becomes inevitablewith the impact of the topography and geology. With the numerous construction of the skewbridge, skew bridge research will become more and more important. Compared to the straightbridge, the study on skew beam bridge’s design is relatively small no matter at home orabroad, especially for continuous skew beam bridge’s design; we also have significantlimitations on understanding the influencing factors of the continuous Skew Bridge,combined with the design specification provisions and the data according to technologyresearch on skew beam bridges are not too many. So the engineer has a lot of randomness onthe skew beam bridges design. Continuous Skew Beam Bridges force characteristic changesin different skew angles, different supporting stiffness and different span. It will haveimportant applications in practical engineering design with the in-depth study of these issues.This article is based on the theory of skew bridge. With engineering examples, usingbridge finite element software Midas Civil to create finite element model on different skewangle (0°to60°every5°setting), different support stiffness (107kN/m、106kN/m、105kN/m、104kN/m) and different span（20m、25m、30m、35m、40m）. Each model will be calculatedand analyzed by the computer, then we can get the data about the skew continuous beam’sbending moment, reaction force, displacement and lateral distribution with each factorvariation. Through the analysis of the influencing factors, we will have more in-depthunderstanding of Continuous Skew Beam Bridges’ force characteristics. At the same time, italso has some reference value on this type of skew bridge design.
