The Research Of Xi.an Car-Park Planning

With the acceleration of China’s economic and social development and unceasingenhancement of people’s living standard, the urban vehicle ownership in China also increasesyear by year, and car parking problems gradually get the attention of the society from allwalks of life. For a long time, in the development of urban traffic, people’s focus has been ondynamic traffic system, and paid less attention to the development of static traffic, whichmakes the vehicle parking become a prominent problem and gradually highlighting the cityparking demand and supply contradictions.Therefore, research of characteristics of the city parking facilities and in-depth analysisof the relationship between the parking characteristics and the parking supply and demand isof great significance in dealing with the city’s parking problems, easing road trafficcongestion, reducing traffic accidents and improving. Moreover, on the basis of this study, itis very necessary and urgent to study the central area parking facilities planning method. Atpresent, some developed countries in the world have done a good study on parking facilities,and there have been many successful cases concerning the parking policy formulation,however, parking systems research in our country is still in its infancy.This paper, by combining the qualitative and quantitative methods and according to thepurpose of the investigation and the actual situation, selects identified twelve suitable parkinglot from existing parking lot of xi ’an for field to do the investigation. Through theinvestigation and analysis, I not only have a deeper understanding on xi ’an’s parkingcharacteristics, but also find some problems existing in the static traffic. For parking demandforecasting, this paper first forecastes the future parking lot demond of xi ’an by choosinggrowth model and then to forecast the parking lot demand of this year using the productivitymodel, and with the use of quantitative method to illustrates the relationship between thesupply and demand of xi ’an current parking lot, and also lays a foundation for furtherresearch in the future. As far as the overall planning and management of the xi ’an parking lotis concerned, this thesis also puts forward my own views and opinions. I also put forward theconcept of intelligent parking guidance system and introduce the composition of parkingguidance system and inducing sign settings, which provides theory basis for xi ’an parking guidance system.
