The rapid development of wind power in recent years is making asignificant contribution to economic energy construction, but thefrequent occurrence of fire inc idents casts a shadow over to it at thesame time. This article relying on a technology projects implementedby Shanghai Municipal Electric Power Company and ChinaShipbuilding Industry Corporation Company726Institute carries outwind turbine fire safety protection system design work based on4G52-850wind turbine generators which located on one of Shanghaiwind farm.After analysis of the wind turbine, the study proposes fire safetyprotection system design specifications and technical requirements anda new fire protection system is designed. Technical design is dividedinto local monitoring and central monitoring of two parts, the in situdetection monitoring system controlled by a programmab le logiccontroller (SIEMENS ET200S series PLC), temperature, flame andsmoke sensor are arranged in the wind turbines cabin key positions toacquire the environment parameters and fire factors. The data processedby the PLC embedded in fire prevention and control program give thefire warning signal quickly or make rapid fire-fighting action and eachwind turbine is able to operate independently. The central monitoringsystem establishes an industrial Ethernet based on PROFINET networkas to monitor and control the fire safety system of the entire wind farm.This work mainly focuses on the local automatic fire system,central monitoring system design and communication network betweenthem.
