With the continuous development of automotive electronic technology, thefunctions of automotive electronic control unit are trending diversification and intel-ligentize. The test of Electronic Control Units(ECU), with which the defects can bedetected and remedied to improve the product reliability, appears increasingly im-portant. Against this background, this dissertation studies an automatic test platformfor vehicle electronic control unit based on the integration invoking technology oflabview and IPO-based algorithm for automatic test case generation techniques.Firstly, this dissertation presents the design of the test platform based on theanalysis results of the test requirements of automotive electronic control unit. Theplatform is applicable to different vehicle ECU development test by integrating theNI virtual instrument and automobile electronic test equipment, which can be usedto drive signal conditioning board and fault simulation board for simulating inputsignals and fault condition of ECU to achieve the logical functional testing and faulttesting. The integration of these devices scheduling and management is the premisefor prerequisite for automatic test function in the case that different test signals aregenerating and collecting by different test equipment in the testing process. As so,the integration invoking method is discussed to archive the sharing data of equip-ment and the synchronization mechanism.Secondly, this dissertation studies the automatic test case generation techniquesfor automotive electronic control unit based on IPO algorithm with pair-wise cover-ing combinatorial as a criterion. Many combination of the input signals unrelated toeach other is meaningless for the actual test, thus, this dissertation eliminates theirrelevant parameter combinations by introducing parameters constraint conditio nsand parameter classification so as to reduce the test suite and avoid resource con-flicts of input parameters. The test suit generated by the algorithm mentioned in thisarticle not only meets the coverage criteria, but also reduces the size of test suite.Finally, the performance of the automatic testing techniques proposed in thisdissertation is verified by the experiments of logic functional test of headlight mod-ule and overcurrent fault of high beam and power failure of accelerator pedal sensorand the timeout fault of CAN.
