Geogrid reinforcement as a main treatment of high embankment,which can solveuneven settlement and improve stability, is widely used in engineering practice.Atpresent project mainly use one-way and two-way grid,Triaxial geogrid as a newreinforced material, although it has been widely used in engineering, but itsreinforcement effect and its merits have not completely studied.So the test usingself-design instrument conduct reinforced embankment indoor model test.Get thefollowing conclusions:(1)The more layers of geogrid the higher capacity, reinforced embankment’scapacity can reach2times than normal embankment. The more layer of geogrid thesmaller settlement, but when laying three or more layers of grid the controlling ofsettlement is not that obvious. The effect of reinforcement’s better part is the upper andmiddle, bottom reinforcement effect is poor, One-way geogrid is better than triaxialgeogrid on the control of settlement effect, but triaxial geogrid is better than theone-way grid on lateral displacement control.(2) In the embankment, each layer of geogrid’s deferent position showing differentstrain, the maximum strain is in axis, the strain at the slope edge are small; in deferentlaying the strain is also different, in the upper layer the strain is small, but the strain inthe middle layer and the bottom layer is relatively large,Grid can change the model’sstress field, when laying geogrid, the earth pressure at the bottom of the geogrid is smallthan at top of it,the geogrid diminish the pressure blow it.(3) Geogrid can prevent the sliding failure stretch to the bottom, In the verticalcontrol the slope’s deformation, In the lateral can control the slope’s horizontaldeformation, and to a certain degree can control surface crack up.(4) Geogrid reinforced parts in slope axis formed strong grid soil block, while theedge intensity, stiffness of the region and the region at the interface of small is thesliding surface position of development. Not laying grille, the deformation slopesettlement smaller central grille soil block, margin of the slip displacement is large,While laying grille soil column displacement is more bigger, The slope deformation ismainly due to the central part’s displacement.
