With the gradual exploitation of oceans and seas expanding from the shallow tothe deep, dynamic positioning technology has been paid wider attention and theapplication of vessel dynamic positioning system (DPS) will continue increasing, andthe research of DPS will be of much more realistic significance. But if reliedcompletely on real ship tests in the research and development of vessel DPS, it willnot only cost a lot in human, material and financial resources, but also bring greatdifficulties due to the uncertainty and high risk of the deep sea working environment.Therefore, the research of DPS needs a good simulated testing platform.The Existing simulated DPS designed by other countries, such as NAVISNavDP4000Trainer has good operating samples, but the technology blockade made itso unreachable that the tests such as dynamic positioning controller, thrust allocationalgorithm designed by ourselves could not work together with it. On suchcircumstance, this simulated DPS is designed to make up for the scalability andreusability of foreign systems.Taking a large dredger for object, this simulated system is then designed on thebasis of a certain understanding of simulated DPS home and aboard. The function,organization, user’s interface and simulated procedure of the DPS have been studied,and its simulated system connector has been designed from the following aspects,such as the function standard of the module and model, and model componentbuilding, etc. VB and MATLAB have also been applied in writing the program torealize the function of the connector and at the same time, to improve its capacity ofexpansion and repeated application. IFIX configuration software has been used todesign human-computer interface. The major work is completed as follows:(1) Analysis on working principle and internal module function of the DPS.(2) The research of data flow in simulation system.(3) The design of simulation system data interface.(4) The design and implementation of simulated DPS.(5) The function tests of simulated system.
