Top-Down crack is a new early destructions form of asphaltpavement. It refers to the cracks which emerged from asphalt surface layerand spread to the road, and has a profound impact to the performance andfunctional life of asphalt pavement surface. At present, the research ofTop-Down crack propagation is limited to the study of the agingproperties, but there’s little research on road stress relaxation performanceunder load. In this case, these Top-Down cracks in different aging degreeof stress relaxation properties of Top-Down crack propagating, and thenget their fatigue life is very necessary. This article made reference to a large number of domestic andforeign literature and research findings, and research on Top-Down crackpropagation of the asphalt pavement are classified and summed up. Ituses temperature field and aging field to get a stress relaxation modulusunder different degree of aging, uses existing tire contact performancemodel and creates a three-dimensional finite element model throughABAQUS software, to calculate the different degree of aging andrelaxation role of the pavement structure under stress response. Inaccordance with the calculation results of the finite element model, itanalyze the impact of Stress relaxation properties on the Stress intensityfactor, thus to analyze the crack propagation.Top-Down cracking of asphalt pavement cracking extending fatigue life analysised by viscoelastic theory theoretical, and making fatigue lifeprediction and correction model. The fatigue life of Top-Down crackingon the basis of damage recovery under the conditions of asphalt pavementis predicted by finite element results. It puts forward fatigue life correctionfactor k.
