A Study On The Design Of Little Theater In Dashila Historic And Culture Area Of Beijing

Beijing historical and cultural areas are important carriers of the old city image and the traditional culture. In the process of city renewal development, historical and cultural areas are facing the challenges of the integration with modern life. To accelerate and optimize the renewal of historical and cultural areas, a large number of Beijing traditional quadrangle have turned into public buildings, such as club, restaurant, hotel, small museums and galleries and so on.Dashila historical and cultural area is a traditional opera flourishing place in history, and little theatre shows vigorous development in recent the30years. So based on this research background and the reconstruction project of Sanjing hutong21#, this thesis explores the design strategy of the Beijing traditional quadrangle transformed into little theatre. Trying to create a little theatre with characteristics of Beijing traditional quadrangle, but also a good cultural dissemination.By researching the space contradiction of Beijing traditional quadrangle and little theatre, some methods and strategies are summarized for transformation of Beijing traditional quadrangle to little theatre. This thesis mainly from urban design, architectural design strategies and theater space design three levels to do the research. Urban design focus on the surrounding historic district coordination problems. Architectural design strategy mainly discuss how to create a large space in Beijing traditional quadrangle. Finally, Under the space condition of Beijing traditional quadrangle, use Architectural design means to solve the detail design problems of performance spaceThe rebuild of quadrangle little theater is an exploration of microcirculation to Beijing historical and cultural areas, and it has a certain significance for the transformation of the Beijing traditional quadrangle of the historic district in the future.
