Delicate Diversity Of Eye-catching Color: A Problem Of The Facade Color In Contemporary Architecture

Color, as one of the basic elements of architectural form, is an effectivemethod for shaping architectural features, worthy of attention and research.Thispaper foucus on the method of using delicate diversity to handle eye-catchingcolor on architecture facade.This research is based on a serie of cases built in last10years. The resarechis carried out in two parts, by sorting and comparing the cases. The first part ison architecture with eye-catching color, summarizing the character and theproblems of using eye-catching color on the fa ade of architecture. The secondpart is on the method of using delicate diversity to handle eye-catching color,analyzing the influence of delicate diversity to eye-catching color, summarizingthe means to realize delicate diversity of color.This paper compiled a set of case, including166color building cases and50excellent cases, collecting and organizing the color scheme and coloringmaterial of the majority of the cases, providing the basis to the research in thispaper, also the material for further study.This paper argues that eye-catching color is an efficient way to shape thecharacteristics of architecture, as well as a risk, which can be reduced by color’sdelicate diversity successfully.To achieve the overall effect both rich, active andin harmony, The base of color’s delicate diversity lies on difference, which isreached by using a series of different color; and the key of color’s delicatediversity is to control the different by color matching and organization.The research shows that visual effect architecture’s color is a result of thecombined action of colors, materials, construction. The conclusion of the wholeresearch also shows that the harmonious color scheme must have two aspects:richness and hierarchy to reach a balance between unity and difference.
