In recent years, the field of marine oil and gas exploration and development isbecoming a new focus due to the rapid growth of demand for oil and gas resources andland crude oil resources are depleting in china. With the exploration of Offshore Oil&Gas resources, deep-sea marine pipelay equipment has been widely appreciated.In view of the domestic R&D and manufacturing of deep-sea marine pipelayequipment is still in its infancy,and our deep-sea marine pipelay equipment mainlyimported from abroad, the China Offshore Oil Engineering Co., Ltd launched the863project of “large oil and gas fields and coal bed methane development”. The deep-seamarine umbilical tensioner design is an important part of this project. Umbilical tensioneris essential equipment for laying the Offshore Oil&Gas pipelines, umbilical cable andflexible steel pipe, its function is real time adjusting pipeline’ tensioning force, to ensurethe tension of the pipe is substantially constant and always maintain in the allowablerange during the process of laying pipes.Through the study of this project, forming a independent intellectual property rightsdeepwater pipe laying special equipment-umbilical tensioner, promoting the R&D andmanufacture of China’s offshore oil extraction equipment, breaking the foreign monopolybondage on tensioner design, getting rid of the situation that our tensioners are mainlyimported from abroad, great efforts to develop our own brand and promoting theproduction of marine oil field.This topic completed the design of the85-ton deep-sea marine tensioners,determined the way of clamping and transport the pipeline as well as he designparameters of umbilical tensioner, finished the detailed design of the main frameassembly and track assembly. In order to adjust the distance between the crawler frameand the box girder to make the crawler frame’ structure and stress more reasonable,andsolve the problem which the track sliding resistance is large and guiding accuracy is low,innovative designed the elastic damping adjustment device. In addition, designed drivenwheel tensioning device which effectively solved the problem of track relaxation. Usingdynamics principle, the paper established the track system’ dynamics model, completed thetrack system’ dynamic simulation analysis. The completion of this subject, which greatly accelerated the localization process ofthe umbilical tensioner,and have an important reference for the future design of thetensioner.
