The hydraulic tensioner is the key component in the car engine timing chain transmission system.Its good dynamic characteristics have an important improvement on the NVH characteristics of the timing chain transmission system,which can improve the fuel economy of the engine,reduce the impact and vibration of the timing chain,and reduce the noise.Compared with the mechanical tensioner,the hydraulic tensioner has the characteristics and advantages of high wear resistance,large damping and small spatial distribution,and is widely used in the automobile industry.However,the capability of hydraulic tensioner design and dynamic analysis is still lacking in China.At present,few of the domestic research focuses on the conventional hydraulic tensioner,and there are few research methods for the dynamic characteristics of the hydraulic tensioner,which mainly focuses on the theoretical model,but it is almost in blank in the research of the special structure hydraulic tensioner,which can not satisfy the hydraulic tensioner for the demand of new technology.For the development of new hydraulic tensioner,if fully dependent on the experiment,it will consume much longer and have a longer cycle.Aiming at this situation,this paper takes the special type hydraulic tensioner of labyrinth valve hydraulic tensioner as the research object,combines the hydraulic tensioner with the CFD,uses the computational fluid dynamics method to study its dynamic characteristics,and consummate the performance analysis method of the timing chain hydraulic tensioner.This paper takes the labyrinth valve hydraulic tensioner as the research object,expounds its structure and working principle,and puts forward a three-dimensional CFD model and the grid division scheme of the hydraulic tensioner based on the theory of fluid mechanics.The Fluent fluid mechanics software is used to solve the CFD model of the labyrinth valve hydraulic tensioner.Through the analysis of the internal flow field of the labyrinth valve hydraulic tensioner,the mechanism of the damping effect of the labyrinth valve is expounded.The dynamic characteristics of labyrinth valve hydraulic tensioner under different frequency and amplitude excitation are studied in detail by using UDF and dynamic grid technology.The above work is the first time that the labyrinth valve hydraulic tensioner has been studied in China for the first time.This will have important theoretical significance and practical engineering value.It is necessary to explain that the computational fluid mechanics analysis scheme of the labyrinth valve hydraulic tensioner in this paper can be used as a research framework and tool to analyze the dynamic characteristics of all kinds of hydraulic tensioner.
