As the country’s emphasis on energy conservation and the enhance of people·srequirements for life quality, more attention has been paid for the comfortable problemsof building environment. Entrance, as the connecting space between exterior andinterior, has important effect on indoor thermal environment and building energyconsumption etc. How to create a favorable thermal environment, so as to offer ancomfortable and health indoor environment for people, has become the researchpriorities. This paper, take Harbin of severe cold region as an example, applies themethods of field survey and software simulation to study the indoor thermalenvironment in the aspects of entrance·s plane layout, space form and construction ofbuilding envelop.First of all, according to the climatic features of Harbin, the paper selects twobuilding entrances as the objects of research to testing the thermal environment, and bythe collecting and analyzing the data, explores the thermal environment features andchange rule, thereby find the questions of entrance·s thermal environment design. Basedon the questions, this paper from the concept of building entrance analyzes the space·selements&sorts, and aiming at the space characters of entrance, analyzes the thermalcharacteristics and influencing factors. Finally, AIRPAK software is selected tosimulating the testing project, and then verified the feasibility in the simulation ofindoor temperature field. On the basis of these, the software is applied to simulating theentrance thermal environment in different conditions by the method of controllingsingle factor variable, and the design strategies are put forward form the orientation&position of entrance, plane layout, building envelop and passive design etc. It will beplay the important role in improving the building entrance thermal environment insevere cold region and reducing the building energy consumption.The paper synthetically applies testing, simulative, analytical and contrastivemethods, considers thermal environment problems from the view of combining fieldsurvey and numerical simulation, and then makes contrast and analysis, concludingsome related diagrams and data. On that basis, the design methods of entrance thermalenvironment are put forward, aiming at providing the qualitative or quantitative basisfor thermal environment design of building entrance in severe cold region.
