The prestressed hollow slab and small box beam are widely used in the bridge construction of high-grade highways since they have so many advantages, such as easy to construct, can be volume-produced,strong span ability etc.But because they were used so widely that the research for which cross-section dimension of them can bring better economic preformance is very practical.Static load tests were carried out on the prestressed hollow slab and small box beam and recorded the change of load characteristic under the test load combined with the practical engineering. The static load test models were set up to simulate the true load test and the analyse data was got by ANSYS software for finite element analysis. Then the analyse date and the test data were compared to prove whether the models were right.A prestressed hollow slab span of20m and a small box beam span of35m models were set up according to the "General figure of highway bridge" by ANSYS. The bending and stress for mid-span were caculated under the design load. The section dimension of the standard beam in the "General figure of highway bridge" was optimized under the code requirement and using function through the "Sub-problem" method by ANSYS.Then a optimized dimension of prestressed hollow slab span of20m and a small box beam span of35m were got,and the economic benefit of the optimized section dimension was calculated compared with the standard beam in the "General figure of highway bridge"...
